If you are struggling to connect to the CanaryNet system the most likely cause is that your wireless laptop is not receiving enough signal, there are several options open to you to resolve this.
Option one is to buy a more powerful USB powered wireless adaptor, of a good quality, ideally one that you can put outside for better range, figure 1 shows a good example of two popular brands by Dlink and Linksys, each one retails at around 45€ at time of this publication.

Option two is to have an 'Access Point'
This involves us installing a small waterproof case in a high point such as your roof or wall that contains a 108mbps wireless receiver. Two cables will run from this box, one to a power supply and the other cable (ethernet) plugs directly into your PC's ethernet port, this gives you a guaranteed 'hardwire' connection and does away with any need for wireless adaptors etc. The cost of this fitted is 145€ incl. (See figure 2)

Alternatively You can opt for a 'totally' wireless installation which involves a secondary access point inside your house in a location of your choice. (See figure 4).
Fig 4.
This gives you complete freedom as you can log onto this Access Point using your wireless enabled laptop or pc, ideal if you wish to work on the patio or in another area of the house! This package costs 250€ incl.
Please contact us by any of the methods found on our website if you need further information. Our head office is located in Fuerteventura, we install systems 5 days a week (48-72 hours notice is required please).

Access Point fitted to high point on house to gain best signal from the hotspot closest to you. (not to scale... The actual grey weatherproof box size is aprox 180x140 mm)
Two white cables, (one power + one ethernet) run into house. The ethernet cable is then connected directly (fig 3.) into the LAN port on your pc or laptop. (cables shown in red for the purpose of this diagram).
This diagram demonstrates the 'Total Wireless' System.
Instead of the ethernet cable connecting into your pc or laptop (as shown in Fig 2), the ethernet cable is connected into a second 'wireless' access point shown in the bottom left of the picture (not to scale).
In this way you can connect from all around the house using your wireless enabled laptop or pc, more than one pc can be used this way and the system has full WEP encryption to avoid 'hackers' using your internet
